Visor Platinum, Deluxe discontinued

Mon Jan 7, 2002 - 3:11 PM EST - By Michael Ducker

The time has finally come. When Handspring announced the Visor Neo and the Visor Pro they said that they would be phasing out the Visor Deluxe and the Visor Platinum. Today listed on the Handspring site for Visor models, it lists the Visor Deluxe and Platinum both as "No longer Available".

The Visor Deluxe was Handspring's first PDA, and it got fairly well reviews. It has been around for 2 years and 3 months. It captured the audiences of many including us at VisorCentral.com. The Visor Deluxe was the first multi-colored PDA, bringing the same fun that the iMac brought to the desktop.

The Visor Platinum is special to me as it was my first PDA, but it was the first 33 mhz Palm compatible PDA ever available. Originally it came only in a silver painted on color, which had many problems (the paint). It was a great success to Handspring, and they later came out with a graphite model for people who wanted a more buisness look.

As previously said, the Visor Deluxe was replaced by the Visor Neo, and the Visor Platinum which is almost the exact same as the Neo was replaced with the Visor Pro.
