m-learning Guide for IT students

Mon Oct 30, 2000 - 10:55 AM EST - By James Hromadka

Global Knowledge announced today its "m-Learning" Guide -- IT courseware for Palm-compatibles. From the press release:
Global Knowledge, a world leader in IT education, developed the m-Learning Guide as a wireless tutorial, reference, and support tool that enables IT students or professionals to quickly and easily access course curriculum and data whenever and wherever they need to. The Guide provides wireless access to the same proven courseware and graphics used for Global Knowledge's instructor-led classes. Four learning modes allow students to quickly maneuver through curriculum: the Fact Mode allows the user to read and review text, the Search Mode finds specific data, and the Q&A and Challenge Modes offer testing features for users to check their progress.

Currently offered for Telecommunications Fundamentals I, the m-Learning Guide will be rolled out for additional courseware during the next few months, including MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) 2000 preparation, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) study guides and tests, TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), UNIX, JavaScript, and more.
Click here for more information about the guide. There's a demo for Telecommunications Fundamentals I. Do you think that handhelds make effective learning tools? I know of at least one college that is working on a program for its students to use Visors in some of its courses. Maybe I can use this to keep my MCSE current. Discuss this news item here.
