A familiar look

Visor Edge and the PowerBook G4 -- can you tell which is which? The Handspring Visor has always been popular with Mac users, and the Visor Edge will no doubt look strikingly familiar.  The Visor Edge bears more than a passing resemblance to the Apple PowerBook G4 (which incidentally I'm writing this review on).

Both are made of metal and have a silver look -- the PowerBook is made of titanium and the Edge is made of anodized aluminum.  Both have a lighter plastic color along the sides, and both are very thin.  I imagine that the Visor Edge will be a big hit with PowerBook owners.

The Visor Edge is a great status symbol with its sleek look and rugged design.  I love the fact that I can carry it in my back pocket wherever I go.  One could even make the argument that a replacement case is unnecessary.  The metal stylus, while much better than the "toothpick" that came with early Visors, takes a lot of getting used to.  If there is one thing that I would improve on the Edge it would be the stylus.

VE by PBG4 - closedThe screen is clearer and has a better backlight than other monochrome Visors, but in the end it is still monochrome.  Monochrome users that have the money will flock to the Visor Edge but very few Prism owners will give up color.
