Got it, use it, love it! Need I say more?
I've had mine for less than 48 hours now, use it in my new Prism, and wonder how I used a Pilot 1000 for so long! Mapopolis Maps, Baen novels, and a few choice applications and even 8 meg of memory wasn't enough! With MemPlug I can keep my files, and a backup too! Does it get better then this? Maybe down the road it might, but if not I am more than happy with the flexability I have now.

GREAT product!
I got my memplug from PalmGear this past week and it's amazing. Took a card out of my Olympus Camera and popped it in. Instantly viewing photos on the card--no moving them to memory of the Platinum first. Backup was quick and smooth too. With a 16Mb card in the unit, it did the backup which it put in a discrete directory on the card, leaving all the other space free for other purposes. I can't say how neat it is to have an external memory pack like this that functions as a springboard device (i.e., the software pops up on my Visor's menu when I insert the unit)...no muss, no fuss. My wishlist? I'd like to have user-defined scaling on the jpeg viewer and a DOC reader that went right to the card for reading DOC files.

Yes! Got It Working!
I gave a thumbs down earlier, because I could not get this springboard to work with my smartmedia cards. Happy to say the problem is resolved. I previously formatted by cards in a Rio MP3 player. The MemPlug could not re-format these cards. However, I re-formatted the card in my PC connected card reader, and now the MemPlug works like a champ!

Convenient, affordable, easy to use
Its greatly expanded the range of software applications that I can store on my Visor. And its under $50 without the memory (I just borrow an extra card from my digital camera). I hope we can see more reasonably priced Springboard modules like this one in the future!

What a Bargain!
Just found out that the gMovie Maker (full version) alone cost 29.95USD. MemPlug is really a bargain!

Great Product!
I got my MemPlug yesterday. I got the gMovie maker and player up and running in 10 minutes. It is so cool! Hey. There are tons of movie clips at http://www.ultimatemovieclips.com/. Most of them are in QT or AVI format which are compatible with gMovie Maker.

Doesn't Seem Compatible With My Prism
I just received my MemPlug today. I just finished trying to make it work, I tried 3 different 3.3v 16MB cards. Alas memplug would not work with any of them. I don't know whether the module is defective, or the cards, but the cards worked fine previously in my digital camera. PiPrefs said it formatted the card successfully (full format) but that does not seem to be the case.

The best removable storage solution for the visor yet
First off-- as with every removable storage solution for the PalmOS so far, the MemPlug doesn't expand your core memory. Neither do the CompactFlash adaptors, nor does the Sony Clie's memorystick adaptor. (the 8 and 16MB FlashRAM Modules DO expand core memory somewhat, but have a much higher $-per-megabyte cost, too). That said, the MemPlug offers some killer functions that made this a great springboard module. Out-of-the-box functions include a backup utility, jpeg viewer, and movie viewer, all which run from the module and access files on a SmartMedia card. A .doc viewer which reads directly from the cards is under development as well. If you have a digital camera that uses SmartMedia, this is a fantastic module to have. Even if you don't, though, this module offers a great storage solution for backing up your data, storing images, and offloading .doc files and programs you don't use often but don't want to delete completely. Kudos to Portable Innovation Technology for bringing a quality module to the Visor community. The packaging and documentation are first class-- I wouldn't be suprised to see the MemPlug in "brick and mortar" stores soon.
