Great PDA
I have had my Visor Deluxe for 2 months and love it. I have had no proglems with it. I did have to go out and buy the serial cradle because I am running Win 95 and don't have a USB Port. The only problem I have had is that I put Solitare on it and had quite a bit of difficulty getting away from my wife. The only way to fix this problem was to buy her a $15 handheld solitare game. I use it all the time and it is one of the most usefull things I have bought in a long time.

Great PDA
This was my introduction to PDA's and I love it. USB syncing is the best! And Springboard modules allow you to expand MUCH more than a regular palm. My only problem with this is that you cant flash upgrade the OS on it. But other than that Handspring made a superior PDA.

I'm fully vested, but not convinced...
I have an ice Visor deluxe. It was my introduction into the PDA market, and at this point I'm not conviced the VDX is a better value than the Palm Vx. - The plastic screen scratches too easily. - The plastic case creaks. Face it, it looks cool, but it's cheap. - The plastic case tends to crack/break at the Springboard module area, where the screws hold the system together. This could be a major design flaw for a system designed to plug a play a lot of different modules. Few people have seen it because there are so few modules available. - Technical support from Handspring is laughable. If I get told, "It's a software issue, try reinstalling again" one more time, I'm going to scream. VisorCentral has solved more problems for me than Handspring's support staff. However, I do give customer service good points. They respond fast and friendly. - But if you need a replacement, the Visor they send is likely to be a refurbished model, not a new VDX. In fact, the first replacement they sent me had a cracked case at the Springmodule joint. Bad idea, guys. - Module development could have been better coordinated. I got a Visor but could find little to plug into it. - You can't upgrade the OS. Upgrade modules and hacks don't count. All this said, I have put a lot of money and faith into my Visor. I have the Back-up Module, the InnoPak/2V, the EyeModule, the Handspring Modem, the colorful stylus, a Stowaway portable keybaord, and a fancy Franklin Covey carrying case. The real factor will be the wireless modem solutions. Up until now, the modules are cool gadgets, but little more than big-boy toys. That said, if you're looking for a PDA, look very closely at both the Visor and the Palm Vx. There are days when I feel like my VDX is little more than a B&W GameBoy on Palm steroids. In a head-to-head showdown, feature-for-feature, option-for-option, and return of investment, I'm not sure the VDX comes out on top.

Top-notch product
Fast, well designed, like it better than the Palm III family. More memory, gotta like that, because I've got a lot of hacks and applications in there. Springboard module a huge plus. GET THE BACKUP MODULE, its amazing. Plug it in, tap the screen, all backed up. I travel and I was always nervous when I hadn't synched in a while and had put a lot of new material into my previous PDA. Also, the new metal stylus it comes with isn't so bad (although I prefer a real pen, so I'm getting a Pilot pentopia 3-way). Unscrew the top part to reveal a hidden Phillips screw-driver, unscrew the bottom part to reveal a reset-pin. Nice.

Sweeeeeetttt!
I have owned the Visor Deluxe for a week now and absolutely love it! I am a former Apple Newton owner(my newton died and nobody will support it any longer), so I started looking at the PDA's on the market. I have been holding out for some time and finally decided to give the new generation of PDA's a closer look. Let me say I love my Visor! The unit is solidly built, works very nicely with Microsoft Outlook(appointments, address book, notes, to do list, email). It has been very nice and easy to use. I have been using my Visor practially non-stop for a week and the battery indicator just started to move off of the full charge mark! Things are not perfect though... I hate the clip on cover. I have ordered the Slipper cover with the belt clip and will let you know how that works out later. I have had a couple of instances where the hotsync would not connect to my PC. I thought it was a USB/Microsoft problem, but after much troubleshooting I found the answer on the Handspring web site. A simple soft reset did the trick and I was back in business. Overall my impression of this is very good. I chose the Visor over the Palm for the springboard expansion, more memory and faster performance over the Palm III's running around my office. The Pocket PC's can only dream of the kind of battery life I am getting with my Visor... If you want to be tethered to an outlet daily then go ahead... Been there and done that with my Newton. The Visor has been a dream so far... Cannot wait for the wireless modules... I will be in heaven!

Excellent
I ordered my Visor on May 1 and received it on May 4. It worked great right out of the box and it came with a metal stylus, not the thin plastic version others have complained about.
