A fabulous keyboard, and a good deal too! |
When I was looking for a keyboard for my Visor I needed it to fulfill three main criteriea;
1. Be sturdy, and stand a lot of use and wear.
2. Be small when in use and when folded up.
3. Affordable enough so I could justify using it.
And wonder what keyboard won for me? The GoType!. It is small enough opened so I can use it in cramped situations, like on a small desk area or in my lap. I can also throw it in my backpack (I'm a fulltime college student) or my carrying case along with my normal Visor traveling kit and off I go! When I get to my destination, I just sit down get out the keyboard plop in my Visor, turn on the Visor and launch my DOC editor and off I go. It is VERY easy to use, but I do have some MAJOR gripes about it. You CANNOT use a modem or any other Springboard that uses the "COM" port while the keyboard is active. This hold's true for the normal driver, but I haven't tried the HackMaster version yet. But chances are it won't work... oh well.

Excellent keyboard with its own strengths |
I have been using this keyboard for nine months, now. Yes, many really like the Stowaway. However, I have been using it to take notes in all of my classes at college for grad school and found it to be indispensible. I like its compact size. A full-size keyboard would be difficult to fit on the small folding desktop chairs at school. Also, I commute on the train and again, a full-sized keyboard would be inconvenient on the small tables (that are shared with three other passengers). Also, the GoType! can be used on my lap. I also like the feel of the keys. Great product.

Absolutely Fabulous !!! |
I recently purchased this keyboard. I really enjoy it. It's sturdy and dependable. The keys are a little small and close together but, easy to get used to. I have been able to easily document many of my notes from inservices I've been in at work. I now have those notes available to me in an instant at work, where I need them the most. (I'm a nurse) On top of getting a great quailty product with great service from Landware, you get TakeNote! I find this software easy to learn and use. I also use JFilePro with it, creating very useful databases of information needed in a critical care setting. Waaaay cool product and a great price! Thanks Landware!

An Awesome Keyboard AND editor |
I read a review of the GoType Pro in Tap
a couple months ago. When I ordered it, I
also purchased SmartDoc (which is far easier
to use than QED). When TakeNote became
available I started using both and have
found several key features missing from
SmartDoc that make the whole package an
awesome combination.

Great addition to Visor |
I am very pleased with the GoType keyboard. I initially could not get it to work. Found out from tech support that I needed to turn beaming on in the Prefs button. Tech support was very helpful but this was not in any of the documentation. It now works great. Only problem is getting used to the closer keys. I made a few typos but am getting better at it. The keyboard is very sturdy with a clamshell cover. I would highly recommend this product.

A great, cheap, keyboard |
The GoType Pro is a great keyboard. The sizeing is a little small, but you get used to it. The HotSync feature is great. The keys are a little stiff when you first use them, but they seem to break in a little bit. The price one of the most attractive features on the GoType. But one of the best things I find is the awed look on peoples faces when they see that I can use a keyboard with my Visor!
