An expensive toy
The quality of the pictures is quite poor, and it's also a battery hog. I sent mine back and got a real digital camera.

Thumbs Down

low res and faulty
I was excited about this gadget, like anyone else who owns a visor but after working for about 3 days it just stopped working. IDEO only lets you send it back without sending you a new one first so here I am stuck with no camera for weeks ..other than that, the camera itself is extremely low grade and I found it too much so for even a PS fix.. ...its too bad that IDEO is going for the quick buck rather than focusing on a quality product and good customer service...

I got more than I expected
Especially the small b/w pictures looked good. Sure, of my 335 photos I shot at a wedding (http://www.gercke.net), 250 are not great, but you recognize the people, some 50 were OK and the rest very nice. This is a SNAPSHOT camera, which is easy to use, lot's of features for the visor, easy to sync with the PC and it produces directly jpgs, what else do you need? I often see other people fiddling with their digital camera, trying to download it onto the PC with the manufacturers software, then resizing it for web use. No need for that with eyemodule. Great for meetings, sedning an email with some photos and ... everyone else really is jealous.

I really want to recommend it but...
The eyemodule has a very high coolness factor. It's extraordinarily easy to use, well-designed, and will impress your friends. But the picture quality is terrible. I know, it's not supposed to be a Hasselblad. But I was really disappointed in the picture quality, even compared to the sample photos on eyemodule's web site. The color mode seems to take the best pictures but leaves an annoying dotted-line around any sharply defined edge, which you can see in the reviewer's pictures of Enron field. The pictures are sort of usable with a little TLC in Photoshop.

Think before you Buy!!
Before purchasing the eyemodule, please think, WHY do you want to buy this camera. If you are considering to have it take your next Vegas Vacation pictures then don't but it. On the other hand, if you want to have a camera around with you always to take pictures of old high school friends you happen to meetup again,or go camping and are very limited on room for supplies, or even if you are behind enemy lines and need to take pictures of those "important secret documents". This camera is for you. As most "road warriors" know that most of the time there is a give and take for fetures versus size of the product. Knowing of the limitations on this product versus the size of the eye module is quite acceptable. My personal guides to this camera are 1.Please remember that the camera had FIXED focus point and therefore macro shots are out of the question, and keep your subject at least 3 feet away from the camera. 2.The viewfinder/camera grabs images at 11 frames per second. This means KEEP IT still. 3.At 11FPS, please remember that lighting will also be an issue. Can you take a picture in your office? YES. Can you take a picture on a cloudy day? YES. Can you take a picture in a bar(semi drunk) UMMM NO!.. Pictures start come out grainy in low light conditions. I like this camera, and I still intend to buy a high quality digital camera, still planing to KEEP the eye module.

ugh, send it back.
My peeve is the eyemodule 'gallery' on their web site. Like this piece of garbage even comes close to ANY of those pictures! What false advertising!!! I tried everything for 15 days, bright lights, outside, timed pictures (to keep it still), you name it and I always got the same thing: bad quality pictures, no res, grainy. pew. I sent mine back. Maybe the next version will be ok.

I like it, but...
Nice at work to document test setups and experiments. Pics do come out on the dark side, but any decent image editing software can often bring out a much improved picture. When I first got it, I left it in my Visor overnight which killed the batteries (fortunately I had a back-up module handy.) I e-mailed tech support and they replied that even off it does add some amount of drain on the battery, and recommended removing it when not in use. I think that's a lame answer, especially when it has the potentially cool feature of doing time-lapse photography.

Thumbs Down

Too expensive
Not when $150 buys a PC camera that sits on top of a PC with a lot better resolution.

First module a success!
I'm not sure what people were expecting from the eyemodule, but I got everything I wanted and MORE! The ability to have photos whenever and wherever I want is so enjoyable! Everyone I've showed it to has been equally impressed. If you're wavering on it, just go for it. The $149 price tag will be justified in minutes after you plug it in!
