How to get things done

For those of you that want to know how things are done.

To sneak into a large convention, carry a bunch of junk (in my case roller blades and a bag) that look like it might obscure a badge and slip in among a group of people. Then, grab a promotional bag o’junk and carry it around like it was gold ingots from an Inca temple. To make the illusion more complete (although this step is overkill) pick up a free pass strap from a booth like Handspring’s, drape it over your neck, and tuck the end under your jacket. People will assume the pass is hidden under there.

To repair a cracked screen for free is easy. Don’t tell them you have a cracked screen. Send the device to Palm for another problem (such as screen pitting) and if they happen to replace the screen for free, great. If not, nothing lost.

And if you win a Visor at the Handspring booth, sell it immediately on E-bay. You’ll make a killing.

Those of us who ordered them the first day can expect them to arrive in two to four weeks.

Sometimes there is no angle to work other than being first in line.
