Hromadka: Looking at the MiniJam, when will the skin editor be released?

Eisenbach: The skin editor right now is done and is in quality assurance and beta testing. VisorCentral will soon have a beta version, so I'm sure you'll be able to have a review on that soon. We hope to release it definitely this year - maybe in the next 2-3 weeks after Comdex. It will initially be a greyscale version, and early next year I'm sure we'll add a color version.

Hromadka: Let's ask a general question here. Looking at the Springboard modules that you've seen here and know about, which current or announced module outside of InnoGear are you personally most interested in?

Eisenbach: I am personally interested in two modules - and I have to say that I'm very disappointed in both of them. What I'd like to see is wireless networking 802.11 as announced by Xircom. I'm pretty disappointed because they did the same thing that InnoGear did too, and I know they have the same problems we have with components, because we all use the same components basically, but they have pushed their release date far far back. So that's something that I personally would like a lot. 

The next one is wireless - Omnisky, YadaYada, and the others. I'm disappointed with them because of coverage. In Silicon Valley, the mother of most springboards, there's almost no coverage. And also the design and form factor. I do think that InnoGear so far did a pretty good job with making sleek, nice looking modules. Even the MiniJam -- it might be a little bulkier than other modules out there, but I like the design personally on it, and a lot of these wireless springboards seem very bulky to me.

Hromadka: What would be your dream springboard? Not necessarily a "kitchen-sink" module, but one you wish somebody would come out with?

Eisenbach: The SixPak is along those lines, because it will enable me personally to check my email and browse the Internet wherever I am. That's something that is important to everyone these days. My dream module would be something similar to Omnisky with coverage all over the world and the size of a standard springboard.

Hromadka: Anything additional that you want to add?

Eisenbach: We have a lot of ideas at InnoGear and we're a great company, but we could do so much more if we had more resources. Any Palm OS programmers reading this can contact George Basmadjian if they're interested in working for us.
