New Service Converts Web Pages to Palm OS Size

Tue Nov 2, 1999 - 8:00 AM EST - By James Hromadka

Digital Paths LLC, a new company based in Stanton, California, is testing an Internet service that "transforms" regular web pages into something suitable for the smaller screens of Palm-based organizers. With the recent release of the Palm VII, it is becoming more apparant that users need a way to access the information of the Internet in a readable-form on Palm-based organizers.

The Palm VII uses "clipping," AvantGo uses HTML, and Digital Paths will use Pathways, a patent-pending technology that allows users to go to their website , enter a URL, and have Pathways convert that web page into a readable form.

The service will be free and can actually save mobile users money because they will be able to have less data transferred to their device.
