FAA concerned with Bluetooth

Mon Dec 20, 1999 - 5:56 PM EST - By James Hromadka

ZDNet has this story about how the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) is concerned about the Bluetooth feature that allows it to always be on.

As anyone that has ever flown in the US knows, passengers must have any electronic device turned off during take-off and landing. Intel will have a feature in Bluetooth-enabled laptops that allows the radio transmitter to be turned off. Of course, the Blue-Connect could be taken out of the Visor to turn it off. Other Bluetooth manufacturers could have problems with the FAA until everything is ironed out.
