"Call Forwarding" on your Palm

Fri Jan 7, 2000 - 9:03 AM EST - By James Hromadka

ZDNet has this article about Palm testing Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), which will "allow users of Palm organizers to register their identity with devices, such as an Internet phone, allowing communications -- such as phone calls to follow them. "

In the demo, after beaming an ID to an Internet phone, phone numbers could be beamed as well. Not much is known about SIP, as it is still being tested in labs, with field trials later this year.
