Office for PalmOS?

Sat Oct 21, 2000 - 1:48 PM EDT - By James Hromadka

Could we be seeing Word and Excel on our favorite handhelds soon? According to this Computer World article, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer had this to say at Gartner Group's Symposium/ITxpo 2000 conference: "No offense to the Pocket PC, but we might need to bring .Net services to Palm and other [handheld] devices."

I'll believe it when I see it. One of the few things that Pocket PCs have going for them is Pocket Word and Excel. On the other hand, MS could make much more money by selling Office and IE for the PalmOS.

What do you think? Discuss it here.
