Presenter-to-Go

Usability

My W2K box is useful only for its monitor as the PBG4 looks onThe Presenter-to-Go module does a good job of displaying static PowerPoint presentations.  The lack of animations or transitions didn't bother me (as I hate them) but may be a problem for PowerPoint experts.  I saw no difference between the .PPT file and the version displayed by PtG.

This module was designed so that anyone could use it.  Read the instructions on connecting the module (or read this review) and you're pretty much set.  IT departments that don't want to have a computer in every conference room will like this module a lot.

One minor quibble: although the PtG comes with a carrying case for its module, you are on your own for carrying the cables.  It also would have been nice to be able to use FileMover to store other files on the module besides presentation files, but because of the strange design of the module, you must have the VGA connector plugged in to access anything stored on the module.

The major issue I see with the PtG is the limited desktop OS support.  I said it earlier, but I am shocked that it doesn't work with Windows 2000.  I can understand not supporting the MacOS initially (but add it soon please), but to not support the primary OS for many corporations is puzzling.

My suggestions to Margi Systems for improving the PtG would be to add support for other operating systems and to allow me to display any Visor screen on a projector.  I would love to be able to demo the Visor's applications to a user group, or  draw on the Visor's screen using a paint application and have that displayed on a wall.  Who needs a whiteboard then?
