Module Madness

Handspring today announced the beginning of Module Madness, a promotion featuring a 20 percent instant rebate on 22 different Springboard modules and accessories. More details about Module Madness can be found at The Madness lasts until April 11, 2002.

"Our first Module Madness promotion took place last year and was a success for Handspring and our developers," said Karen Sipprell, vice president of corporate marketing at Handspring. "A wide variety of new Springboard modules and accessories have shipped since then, and we wanted to give our large installed base of Visor owners the opportunity to purchase more modules at a great price."

Twenty-two Springboard modules and accessories are included in the Module Madness promotion. While the prices are mostly under $100, there are a few more modules that are starting to creep down, and under $50!

Communications and Wireless Games & Sports
  • Step Keeper by Hagiwara $39.96 (retail $49.95)—Pedometer records peoples' steps as they walk and calories burned. It can be slipped into its carrying case that clips onto a waistband and displays the results on the Visor.
  • PocketChess Deluxe by Pocket Express $15.99 (retail $19.99)—An enhanced version of the popular Palm OS chess program that includes many new features, such as a 3000 Classic Game Library.
  • IntelliGolf by Karrier Communications $31.96 (retail $39.95)—Automates golf scoring, collects game-improving statistics and tracks up to 17 simultaneous wagers on the Visor.
Health and Wellness
  • Stedman's Medical Dictionary by Franklin Electronics $79.96 (retail $99.99)—The most up-to-date authority on medical language and the standard reference for healthcare professionals.
  • Washington Manual, 30th Edition by Franklin Electronics $79.96 (retail $99.99)—Provides therapeutic and diagnostic information for a wide variety of illnesses.
  • Raycom Personal Massager by Raynet Technologies $79.20 (retail $99.00)—Provides Electronic Muscle Stimulation through two gel pads and comes with a selection of massage modes.

  • DataQuake 8MB and 16MB Modules by Pogo Products $63.20 (retail $79.99), $39.20 (retail $49.00)—Feature memory expansion and also include a silent alarm and vibrating feedback functionality.
  • Hagiwara's 16MB Flash module $91.96 (retail $114.95)—An ideal solution for carrying large applications, such as e-books, dictionaries, and games.
